Transformation coaching

provides you with the tools and techniques to truly influence your physical, mental and emotional well-being. The power to change is within you! Transformation coaching will consist of at least six sessions, face to face or over the phone.

Transformation Coaching gives you the skills to truly make lasting changes! Each session will address strategies for influencing behavioral patterns as they relate to your everyday lifestyle and the impact your choices. 

The fee for each session is $75. Each meeting will be one and a half hours.

What exactly is a Transformation Specialist trained to do and how will Transformation Coaching be different from any other program? 

Many personal trainers, nutritionist, dietitians and health programs are lacking a few key components. Although beneficial and important, they are unsure of how best to create behavior change within their clients. It is here that a transformation specialist has the tools to step in with the missing link.  Within the health and fitness industry, there has been a disconnection between the idealistic presentation of academia and certifications programs and the practical realities of working in the trenches.

Perhaps a larger reality is that academic preparation for personal trainers, like any other helping profession, cannot possibly teach all of the skills and knowledge to work with the huge variety of clients who will likely walk through a health and fitness professional’s door. Professional preparation is simply not equipped to teach personal trainers, nutritionist, and dieticians or even doctors everything they need to know and the best solution for every possible case.

Professional and standard training does not teach what is now consistently recognized as the most essential component of behavioral change. What I am mean here is all of the relational and emotional characteristics that teach not just what to do with clients, but more importantly, how a health professional or trainer should be with clients. This is important as research in behavioral change now clearly recognizes that, regardless of the model of behavioral change used, the relationship with the trainer, coach or therapist is the strongest predicator of long-lasting behavioral change. It is this human connection that serves as the glue that sustains the difficult aspects of behavior change. And while there are transformative factors that are needed for change to occur, without first developing a trusting and authentic relationship with a health professional, clients simply will not change.

Obesity rates now skyrocketing, and diversifying into younger populations, how to change peoples’ behavior is something that is missing the mark on a national scale. While there is now greater access than ever before to information about healthy nutrition, campaigns to encourage the adoption of healthy behavior, and even incentive programs (for instance, many insurance companies offer lower premiums, and many states have considered raising taxes on unhealthy foods), the obesity epidemic is showing no signs of slowing down.

Professionals have plenty of useful information about exercise and nutritional; yet, all of this information is predicated upon not simply eating healthier and exercising, but also upon changing a person’s behavior at a fundamental level. What is needed—and what this program offers—is not more of the same, but rather, an inside look at the most up-to-date, evidence-based, and innovative approaches to changing behavior.

Why I developed this program:

Hey there! Melisa here, the owner of Your Time Training. As you know by now, I have many certifications in the health and fitness industry and have a personal experience of transforming myself, mentally, emotionally and physically. I have lost 120lbs.  This journey has taught me so much. Through it, I have developed a passion to help others do the same. Weight loss has impacted my life in more ways than I could ever explain. Unless someone has been overweight, they just don’t understand the mental, emotional and physical challenges that come along with creating a new and healthy life. This is where I take pride in what I do. Through my amazing and difficult journey, I can now share the struggles, offer compassion and understanding in a way that so many health and fitness professionals cannot. One thing I could NOT do, and it drove me CRAZY, was bottle up the motivation and drive I was blessed to have within me and give it to others. I wanted to find the right words and questions to provoke thought and inspiration to keep going. I am heart broken when any of my clients give up or feel helpless and lose hope; I feel I failed as a trainer when that happens. I longed to find the secret of sharing what was inside of me to change with others. Learning about becoming a transformation specialist felt like the right place to start. While becoming certified, I learned so much about understanding human behaviors and habits. I gained the tools to put with my experience to finally find the missing link! That’s why I developed this program- Transformation Coaching! Again, it’s the tools I have gained WITH my experience that makes this program truly one of a kind.
